Biography:
Peter Thornborough was born and educated in Sydney, Australia.
He attended the East Sydney College of Art, receiving a Painting Diploma in Fine Art.
Peter exhibited briefly at The Art Directors´ Gallery, Sydney, before leaving Australia to travel and settle in London.
There his creative output was consumed by the advertising industry as an art director and illustrator.
In 2001, Peter finally found the time to return to his life long passion, painting. Since then, his work has been exhibited in galleries in and around London, including the Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy.
For his current series of atmospheric landscapes of the island of Møn in Denmark,
Peter uses acrylic on canvas. He employs a variety of different styles, contrasting broad areas of surface texture with areas of intense detail.
